Peace Children's Home

The Peace Children's Home is located in Wiang Pa Pao a town in Northern Thailand about half-way between Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai.

Currently they occupy two rai of land, on a parceltotaling 18 rai. The rest is available for purchase when funds become available. (A rai is about 0.4 acres)

We, along with Scott Friedman and his TWCCTW Fund, have just made a grant to this organization to complete the initial phase of construction and to get the facility ready to be occupied by the original 13 hill tribe children that will live there and begin their education.

This is just a start, however. Additional funding will be required to acquire more land for agricultural projects, build another couple of buildings, and cover the costs of day-to-day care along with educational expenses. We'd love to have some folks step up and get involved with us on this great project. I'll welcome your contact. Let me know if you are interested in supporting this growth.

Here are the kids right after they arrived at the home.

Second day at the home

And here they are two weeks later -- dressed in their new uniforms which we funded -- all ready for their very first day in school. I mean the first school day in their lives!

They look like completely different kids now that they are well fed and all cleaned up.

On the bus (actually a songtaow) ready to go. What a thrill for these kids!

Here is the Peace Home building currently under construction.

Four rooms. One for boys. One for girls. One for House Parents. One for study.

Won't be long now.

The Peace Children's Home is just getting started. We've funded the early construction, but there is much, much more to be done. Simply put: We need your support.

Won't you join us in helping to grow this fledgling facility into a fully operational place where 40 to 50 children can receive loving care, nourishing food, and a life changing education?
